— Ladmo —
Ladimir Kwiatkowski, affectionately known as Ladmo, was a cherished American television personality best remembered for co-hosting The Wallace and Ladmo Show—a beloved children's variety program on KPHO-TV in Phoenix, Arizona. Featuring clowns, cartoons, and short comedy skits, the show became a staple for generations of viewers.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Ladmo grew up with dreams of a career in sports broadcasting. After playing baseball at Arizona State College and graduating with a degree in journalism, he faced a pivotal choice between pursuing baseball professionally or following a path in television. Thankfully for Arizona audiences, he chose television—landing a job at KPHO the day after graduating.
There, Ladmo created his iconic character and introduced the famous "Ladmo Bags," delighting children across Arizona. Over a remarkable 36-year run, The Wallace and Ladmo Show became one of the longest-running daily children’s shows in America, earning nine Emmy awards.
Beyond the camera, Ladmo was a devoted husband to his wife Patsy and a proud father of five. After retiring, he continued to serve the community through various charities until his passing in 1994. His legacy of laughter, kindness, and community spirit lives on.
