Wallace and Ladmo Show Characters

1954–1960: The Early Years

The Birth of a Local Legend

Step back to 1954, when The Wallace and Ladmo Show premiered as It’s Wallace? on KPHO-TV in Phoenix. Originally created by Bill Thompson to showcase cartoons, the show quickly grew into something more. Joined in 1955 by Ladimir Kwiatkowski—better known as Ladmo—this dynamic duo brought laughter, live skits, and a unique comedic charm to Arizona homes. Airing live twice a week in the evenings, the show captivated kids and parents alike. The set was simple, the humor timeless, and the chemistry between Wallace and Ladmo laid the foundation for a legacy that would span 35 years. It was during this era that the seeds of a cultural phenomenon were planted.
